Senior Email Marketing Specialist

We’re looking for a hands-on, results-driven Senior Email Marketing Specialist to take ownership of our email marketing program and help drive lead generation. This is a key role within an expanding marketing team at a small but growing, family-run manufacturing business.

As part of a lean, agile team, your responsibilities will span campaign planning, copywriting, execution, performance optimization, list management, and audience segmentation. You won’t be expected to develop original content like blog posts or videos—instead, you’ll be provided with articles, product news, videos, and other assets to build campaigns around.

The ideal candidate brings excellent copywriting skills to the table along with experience in developing and optimizing successful email marketing campaigns.

Initially, success in this role will be defined by the ability to, first, develop nurture streams for contacts who have opted in and, second, to formalize our cold email outreach process. Subsequently, success will be defined by the number of qualified leads that can be identified (and nurtured) and, ultimately, the number of qualified leads that can be passed to sales.

Reporting to the Director of Demand Generation, you’ll collaborate closely with our business development and sales engineering teams to ensure messaging aligns with customer needs and buying stages. You’ll also work with our graphic designer and an external web agency that supports SEO and website performance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, write, and execute email campaigns that drive engagement and nurture leads
  • Write persuasive and on-brand email copy for various audience segments
  • Manage–grow, segment, and cleanse–email lists
  • Set up and monitor campaigns in Mailchimp to existing audience
  • Run small scale cold outreach email campaigns
  • A/B test subject lines, creative, and send times to improve open and click-through rates
  • Track performance metrics and report insights with recommendations for improvement
  • Ensure compliance with email regulations and best practices
  • Stay current with email marketing trends, tools, and best practices

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of professional experience in email marketing. B2B marketing is a plus.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills
  • Mastery of an email marketing platform. If Mailchimp, excellent, but not required. 
  • Great familiarity with audience segmentation and list management
  • Advanced knowledge of email performance metrics and optimization strategies
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines independently
  • Self-starter comfortable working in a fast-paced small business environment
  • Familiarity with basic HTML and email design best practices a plus
