400 Series

Penflex’s only helical hose option, 400 series is available in sizes 1/4” – 1” ID.

Some users opt for helical instead of annular hose because it may be easier to drain the hose of liquid media. Furthermore, when comparing certain product lines, a fully compressed helical hose can achieve higher working pressures than a standard pitch annular hose.

However, helical hose can torque under pressure given their screw-like design, and annular hose has been shown to have far better flexing characteristics. Where torsion is likely to occur, or in high cycle applications, annular hoses – specifically P3 – may be a better design choice.
