700 Series
Our original general purpose hose, 700 series is a high quality hose that has long served the traditional industrial sectors. While P4 series, which is manufactured using a different, more modern corrugation forming process, is the “new generation” of 700 series, specifications calling for 700 series remain.
To make 700 series, we begin with a cylindrical tube formed from rolled strip and joined at the seam by butt welding. Impressed into this tube is a corrugated annular profile. Our manufacturing process produces long lengths, which are packaged in standard cartons or as braided hose-on-reels.
Benefits
- Midweight construction
- Good corrosion resistance
- High pressure ratings
- Available in compressed pitch
- AIS compliant options available
Technical Specifications
- Construction: Annular hose with a standard pitch
- Hose material: 316L and 321 stainless steel
- Braid material: 304L and 316L
- Other alloys available upon request
- Hose sizes: 1/4″ through 12″

Compressed 700 Series
Penflex also offers 700 series in a compressed style with higher corrugation counts for increased flexibility in hose sizes 5″ through 12″. For compressed hose 4″ and down, see P4 information.
American Iron & Steel (AIS) Compliant Options
For projects with 100% domestic sourcing requirements, Penflex offers AIS compliant versions of P4 and 700 Series hose and braid. While AIS requirements apply specifically to water infrastructure projects, products manufactured to AIS standards may also support broader domestic sourcing initiatives, including Build America, Buy America (BABA) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS).
AIS requirements mandate that:
- Stainless steel strip used to form hose is melted and produced in the United States
- Stainless steel wire used for braid is melted and drawn in the United States
- All manufacturing processes take place domestically
